Some Rules of Interest For the Site

For the best interests of the site, I do censor some posts, as you might have noticed. I take out any words like, "Oh, my God." and change that to "gosh". I was always taught to not take the Lord's name in vain and that rings true for such expressions or so I was taught. I also remove anything that has too much of a ring of bathroom humor or of bodily functions. My general attitude is that if a preacher wouldn't say it in the pulpit we won't say it on the site. Nobody has complained yet but someone probably will eventually. It is probably a fact that most don't re-read their posts and even if they did they wouldn't remember what they said or care if small changes are made. I am posting this paragraph on the site just so people will know why I do change things a bit. I try to keep the general idea and just use gentler words.

I also take a gentler attitude toward "jumping someone's case" about something. Several have asked me if they should respond to something in an aggressive manner and I usually feel that a gentle response if best. (That does not apply to anyone who might come on the site to cause trouble or to break our rules. If you see something of this type just ignore it as far as responding and let me know, please. I don't intend to tolerate certain things but I think it only makes troublemakers happy when the members respond and get things built up to a high pitch. I will just respond with a simple request that they obey our rules or leave. Banning would be the next step if the don't comply.) We are God's servants here and I feel that we should respond in the most Christlike manner possible to all things.

There are some rules I would appreciate having you follow. Please, let's have no "heated" discussions or posts about religion or politics. This would include not running down any political party or religious denomination. Frankly I feel that those subjects are best left alone as they often lead to differences of opinions. Any such "iffy" posts or discussions will be deleted by the management without further discussion.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation. If you see a thread that is developing into this sort of discussion I would appreciate it if you would notify the management.

Thanks so much for caring about the site and for understanding my position on things.

I just hope that if I slip and you have to edit my posts that you will let me know as a gentle reminder to clean up my act. I try to be good but sometimes have been known to drop my guard and say or do something I shouldn't without even realizing it unless it is called to my attention.

Elena
Zany, that isn't a problem as I try to read every post that is in every forum but sometimes some slip by me. If any of you catch anything I need to change, let me know please. All of us goof from time to time and also someone might say something and have no idea that it has a double meaning. I will be counting on you guys to notify us of that stuff if you see it.

Sometimes I send a message with a correction but most of the time they are only minor things that don't really matter to anyone. If I think I might be "stepping on toes", I just make the change and let it be. Until I know someone well it is kinda tricky. I just want us to keep the site as clean and accurate as possible, especially since I want folks to ask their churches, Sunday School classes, etc. to let them put our site info. on their bulletin boards. Any other place that you can post it would be good. It will help us reach more people if we can get notices posted in lots of different places. [/b]
