Gardening sayings...

I will start the ball rolling .....
Care to join me????????????

"Live well, laugh hard and dig up your yard."

Aloe
Well, there's the old saying, "Bloom where you're planted."

Elena
I love that one and actually have a sign for the garden with that saying on it. I keep meaning to use some stencils and make a few more signs of that type for the garden. I do have one that my daughter did for me that has the scripture about, "Thy word shall be a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path that I put in the garden along with a rusty old lantern. People always comment on it.

Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better.
Albert Einstein

"In the cold and snow of winter there's a spring that waits to be, unrevealed until it's season, something God alone can see." Hymn of Promise

"A bit of perfume always clings to the hand that gives the rose." -Chinese proverb

Flowers that bend and meet in sweetening others grow more sweet.

"We do not inherit the land from our ancestors. We borrow it from our children"

Every gardener knows that under the cloak of winter lies a miracle ...a seed waiting to sprout, a bulb opening to the light, a bud straining to unfurl. And the anticipation nurtures our dream. - Barbara Winkler

To Plant a Garden is to have Faith in Tomorrow.

Where do forest rangers go to "get away from it all?"

Gardening Keeps Me Growing!

Life is simple.

Aloe
A weed is a plant whose virtues are yet to be discovered. -Someone famous said that but I don't remember who it was. I probably don't have it exactly word-for-word, either, but you get the point.

I would add that a weed is sometimes a plant whose virtues have been forgotten. Many "weeds" were once considered useful edible or medicinal plants.

Elena
I have read that many were actually brought by settlers from other countries for such purposes and they have become "non-native invasive species". I think the dandelion and the privit hedge are two of those and there are many, many more.

Yes, I do get the point, and it is well taken. Ha!

I have always been amazed to discover that some of the things we consider weeds are treasured plants in other places and visa versa.

Wake up happy
Chase a cloud
Water a garden
Laugh out loud .

A rose, by any other name, would still smell as sweet...

Elena

I would love to put that little poem on a sign of some kind, Scooter. I think that is wild that it was on paper towels. That is cool.

Yep, Shaz. If it were called Stink Plant it would still smell great, huh?
