That should get you a lot of attention. Maybe you can surround it with straw bales with plants growing out of them and folks will just think it is a new gardening pool fad of sorts.
Cajun, I think your body has adjusted to the new diet by not letting more weight go. It may have gone into sort of a starvation mode. Eating a bit more and drinking lots of water might just make it think that all is "normal" again, setting you up for sheding a few more pounds in the next week or so. Let us know how it goes.
A few years ago there was a picture floating around on the internet of a redneck hot tub. It was a red pickup with the pickup bed lined with black plastic and filled with water, and of course the redneck was sitting in it with his hat still on his head! I can see that after standing in the sun all day a foot of water would be nice and warm. For summer use only!
I have a red pickup and some black plastic. And summer is not far away!!!!
Last night was the final weigh in for the contest. I did not do as well as I had hoped but it was okay. I lost 14 1/2 lbs all together. The last 2 weeks have been hard because my stomach ulcer is giving me fits and I have to eat every few hours to keep the pain down. That does not help a diet. It's hurting bad this morning.
DH has had a bad couple of weeks due to infection in his foot. He has not been able to exercise and he has fluid in his leg. Please remember him in your prayers.
Do I remember that he is diabetic? Are the swelling and the infection related to that condition? Maybe you need to put him on the Prayer forum or update the post if you have already done that. I will be praying for him and also for you in your agony of adjusting to Knock leaving soon. Bless your heart, my heart goes out to you.
Yes, he is a diabetic and that is what the infection stems from. He has not had a problem for nearly a year but it is giving him a very hard time right now. It is so frustrating. He never cheats on his diet and he takes good care of himself. This should not happen to him.
I am praying for him to recover completely from this setback. My daughter and granddaughter (her daughter that just graduated from college) were recently diagnosed as diabetic and I fear that my son and other daughter may have the same problem if they don't get a grip on their tendency for overweight. With high blood pressure and diabetes running in our family, I hate to see them take chances like they are doing.
Please tell them it is a game they cannot win. My DH had 6 surgeries on his left foot in 1 year including 2 amputations and a skin graft. It has done irreprerable damage to his lymphatic system and he is always fighting infection. Even with the skin graft he has an open spot under his foot that has been there for 8 years. It is a constant battle. Please tell them to take care of themselves.
The two who were recently diagnosed are doing everything in their power to take the best care of themselves possible. I just wish I could get the other two to lose some weight and take this more seriously.
