When I say..."I Am a Christian"May others see Jesus in YOU
*******************************************
"When I say..."I Am a Christian"
Carol S. Wimmer
When I say..."I am a Christian"
I'm not shouting "I am saved"
I'm whispering "I get lost!"
"That is why I chose this way."
When I say..."I am a Christian"
I don't speak of this with pride.
I'm confessing that I stumble
and need someone to be my guide.
When I say..."I am a Christian"
I'm not trying to be strong.
I'm professing that I'm weak
and pray for strength to carry on.
When I say..."I am a Christian"
I'm not bragging of success."
I'm admitting I have failed"
and cannot ever pay the debt.
When I say..."I am a Christian"
I'm not claiming to be perfect,
my flaws are too visible
but God believes I'm worth it.
When I say..."I am a Christian"
I still feel the sting of pain,
I have my share of heartaches
which is why I seek His name.
When I say..."I am a Christian"
I do not wish to judge.
I have no authority.
I only know I'm loved.

Be patient-- Life is very brief,
It passes quickly by,
And if it prove a troubled scene,
Beneath a stormy sky,
It is but a shaded night,
That brings a morn of radiance bright.
Be hopeful. Cheerful faith will bring
A loving joy to thee.
And make thy life a hymn of praise
From doubt and murmurs free.
Whilst like the sunbeams thou will bless
And bring to others happiness.
Be earnest. An immortal soul
Should be a worker true.
Employ thy talents for thy God,
And ever keep in view
The judgment scene, the last great,
When heaven & earth shall pass us.
Be prayerful Ask and thou shalt have
Strength equal to the day.
Prayer clasps the hand that guides thee.
Ask largely and thy God will be
A Kingly giver unto thee.

You Ask Why I Follow This JesusYou Ask Why I Follow This Jesus
~Author Unknown
You ask why I follow this Jesus
Why I love Him the way I do
When the world's turned away from His teachings
And the people who serve Him are few.
It's not the rewards I'm after
Or gifts that I hope to receive
It's the Presence that calls for commitment
It's the Spirit I trust and believe.
The Lord doesn't shelter His faithful
Or spare them all suffering and pain,
Like everyone else I have burdens,
And walk through my share of rain.
Yet He gives me a plan and a purpose,
And that joy only Christians have known,
I never know what comes tomorrow,
But I do know I'm never alone.
It's the love always there when you need it;
It's the words that redeem and inspire,
It's the longing to ever be with Him
That burns in my heart like a fire.
So you ask why I love my Lord Jesus
Well, friend, that's so easy to see,
But the one thing that fills me with wonder is
Why Jesus loves someone like me.

Would I Be Called a Christian?
Author unknown
Would I be called A "Christian:
If everybody knew
My secret thoughts and feelings,
And everything I do?
Oh, could they see the likeness
Of Christ in me each day?
Would I be called a "Christian"
If anyone could know
That I am found in places
Where Jesus would not go?
Oh, could they hear Him echo
In every song I sing?
In eating, drinking, dressing
Could they see Christ my King?
Would I be called a "Christian"
If judged by what I read,
By all my recreations,
And every thought and deed?
Could I be counted Christ-like
As I now work and pray?
Unselfish, kind, forgiving
To others every day?
"Lord, lay some soul upon my heart
And love that soul through me;
That I may humbly do my part,
To win that soul to thee."

The Gospel According to You
Author Unknown.
There’s a sweet old story translated for men
But writ in the long, long ago --
The Gospel according to Mark, Luke and John --
Of Christ and His mission below.
You are writing a gospel, a chapter each day,
By deeds that you do, by words that you say,
Men read what you write, whether faithless or true,
Say, what is the gospel according to you?
Men read and admire the Gospel of Christ,
With its love so unfailing and true;
But what do they say, and what do they think
Of the gospel according to you?
You are writing each day a letter to men;
Take care that the writing is true.
‘Tis the only gospel some men will read,
That gospel according to you.
