I have known Angela almost all of her life. She is a beautiful, Christian young lady in her early 30s and she needs our prayers badly. I will keep this thread updated as word is received from her father concerning her condition. Please pray for her.

Angela Brewer, wife of Michael & daughter of Bill & Mary Lou Davis, November 13th, hospitalized as her first liver transplant is failing. She has a tracheotomy for oxygen. She is stable and holding her own. She is in the Kings College Hosp in London. Please pray that they will get a new liver soon and they requested special prayers on Wednesday at 12:00 noon. Bill said that Angela seemed to be a little more responsive, spelling out words with her fingers and touching her mother.

Message sent by her father, Bill.
Hello Everyone,
The news is not so good concerning Angela today. She has some internal bleeding and other issues with her lungs. They have her sedated again and have given her blood and medication for clotting. Mary Lou said the doctors told them the liver performs over 500 functions for the body and that she will have these bumps in the road. We sometimes feel we are on a roller coaster ride with the ups and downs we are all going through with Angela.
Mary Lou said they did a liver transplant yesterday morning and another one this morning. We have to keep praying that Angela will remain stable enough to receive a transplant when her time comes.
We would like to ask all of you that are able to pray again Wednesday the 29th at 12:00 noon, Nashville time. I know this is short notice and some of you may not receive this message in time. Of course we realize that many people are praying for Angela many times a day and that our God is available twenty-four a day every day. It just means a lot to us to know that many people are praying at the same time asking God to protect Angela and provide for her every need.
Pamela and I leave Friday afternoon and should arrive before 7:00 am Saturday morning London time. Please pray for us as we travel to be with Angela, Michael and Mary Lou.
Please pray that God's perfect will be done in His time.

URGENT Prayer Request for Angela Tuesday 3:30 pm
Mary Lou just called me and asked that I send out an
urgent request for prayer for Angela. She and Michael had
a consultation with the doctor and they are very concerned
about her condition for a transplant. She continues to have
some issues with her lungs and a couple of other things.
She said the doctors are working very hard to do
everything possible to keep Angela stable. She is on
complete life support and they have increased her oxygen
intake. Please pray tonight and tomorrow that the Lord
will sustain Angela and strengthen her body for a transplant.
Please pray also for Mary Lou and Michael that the Lord
will strenthen and comfort them during this time.
Our continuing prayer is that the Father's perfect will
be done in Angela's life and that he would give us all the
grace to accept His will for our own lives.

I will hold this young woman and her family in my prayers as they struggle through these trials.

Thanks Zany! Here is the latest report from Bill. Things are not looking good at this point, I am afraid.
Keep praying, everyone!
Below you will find the latest message from her father tonight.
Mary Lou just called me. Angela is in critical condition.
They ran some tests today and found she has a lot of internal
bleeding. She is very weak. The doctors just met with Michael
and Mary Lou and her prognosis is not good. Mary Lou wants
Pamela and I to come on over tomorrow if possible instead of
waiting till Friday. We appreciate all of the prayers that went
up for Angela today. We are not giving up. Mary Lou said at
this stage it will take a miracle from God for her to recover to
the point that a transplant will be possible.
Please pray for a miracle and pray that God in his divine
mercy will intervene. Please pray also that Pamela and I
will arrive in time and that He will not take her home today,
on Mary Lou's Birthday. We are still praying for God's
perfect will for Angela's life and are preparing ourselves
to accept His will. Please pray for our entire family.

Subject: Angela Update 12:30 am Wednesday night
Hello Everyone,
I am so thankful that we made it past midnight and
Mary Lou's Birthday. Pamela and I are leaving Thursday
at either 11:55 am or !:20 pm. Shaunna is getting our tickets
changed and she wants us to take the earlier flight if
possible because of the bad weather forecast for Chicago.
We will take the same flight out of Chicago either way and
arrive in London before 7:00 am Friday morning.
Please pray that God will sustain Angela until we
arrive. We are continuing to pray for a miracle that God
will begin a healing process in Angela and prepare her
for a liver transplant. Our God is able. Please pray that
he will give our family and all of you who have been praying
for Angela grace to accept His Divine Will and peace that
only He can give.
I talked with Mary Lou a couple of hours ago and they
are staying with Angela all night. Michael will not leave her
side. Continue to pray for Michael and Mary Lou. I know
they are physically exhausted, and emotionally drained.
I plan to call Mary Lou at 8:00 am and check on Angela's
condition. I will send out an update before I run a few errands
prior to our leaving. I now have fifty names on my Family and
Friends list. I don't believe I will be able to access Outlook Express to send an update to everyone as I have been doing. Thanks to all of you who have spread the word about Angela. I wish I knew how many people have been reached and have prayed for her. Maybe we will know someday.
Please continue to pray that God's perfect will be done
in Angela's life and in all of our lives.

Angela Update Thursday morn 11/30
Hello Everyone,
I just talked with Mary Lou. Angela is stable but in critical
condition. They are continuing with some treatments and
making an effort to maintain her until Pamela and I arrive.
We will meet with the doctors and make some family decisions
Friday morning.
Unless God chooses to intervene the outlook is very dim
from our human perspective, but from heaven's view everything
is beautiful. When Mary Lou and I adopted Angela over thirty
years ago we took her to our church and had prayer with Br.
Jim Henry, our pastor at the time, dedicating her to the Lord.
She was actually in our church before she arrived at our home.
She accepted Christ at a young age and the greatest thing of
all is that we will see her again soon in a healthy body with a
smile on her face.
Please pray for God's perfect will to be done in Angela's
life and pray for the grace to accept His will for all of us.
Pray especially today for Michael and Mary Lou for peace
and comfort.
Shaunna, another one of my angels, got Pamela and I
on the 11:55 flight to Chicago. We should arrive in London
before 7:00 am Friday morning their time. Please pray for
us as we travel.

Subject: Angela Update Friday 12/1
Hello Everyone,
We have very sad news to report today. Our Angela went home to be with her Lord this morning at 7:00 a.m. (1:00 a.m. CST). Pamela and I had just landed and were trying to get a taxi to the hospital when Mary Lou called me. She went peacefully and the doctors said she did not suffer. We are glad that we did not have to make any decisions about taking her off of life support and watch her struggle in her last moments. The Lord knew what was best in this situation as always. Michael, Mary Lou, Pamela and I have peace about this.
We want to have a Memorial service at Two Rivers Baptist Church, Nashville, next week. We are working out details and will let everyone know a firm date as soon as possible.

This is a portion of today's email from Angela's father, Bill, who is still in London at this time. I think it is of utmost importance for us to notice how this family has been a witness for our Lord in a time of their deepest pain, sorrow and grief. Angela lived up to her name and she was truly an angel who loved and served her Lord. It is not surprising to me to read that she continued to witness for Him until her last breath was taken here on this earth. She was a good and faithful servant for our Lord until the very last and I know that our Lord will say to Angela, "Well done, thy good and faithful servant."

Hello Everyone,
We are all doing fine. A couple of Michael's neighbors picked us up about 10:00 a.m. this morning and brought us to his home in Maidenhead. It was difficult returning to their home without our precious Angela.
Last night we went back to the hospital. Mary Lou and Michael wanted to check on some of the patients and their families. It was amazing to see how they had bonded with these families in the past four to six weeks. They have been an inspiration and encouragers to many people. Jean told us that she had just been told by the doctors that they did not expect Teresa to live through the night. We found out this morning just before we left that she had passed away during the night. Please continue to pray for her family. We believe that was the thirteenth death in the past six weeks in the liver ICU unit.
We will never know this side of heaven how many lives were touched by Angela's journey these past few years. I have found another angel right under my nose. Mary Lou and I are so proud of our Pamela. I wanted her to come with me to London to be an encouragement to her mom and to see Angela one last time. We are amazed at how her sweet spirit has lifted Michael up and helped him begin the healing process. She left her husband Aaron and babies at home and misses them all terribly, but you would never know it from the constant smile on her face.
We have spent hours sharing memories of Angela's childhood and her life since she met Michael six years ago. He cherishes every moment of the time they had together.
Please let me share with you some things I have learned during this journey. God is not a four letter word and neither is Jesus. It's okay to say their names in public. We have found this to be true in the public school system and also in my work. I have shared about Angela's illness with many customers and many of them have promised to pray for her and for our family.
Also I have learned that our faith sustains us in the darkest hours. The Lord truly gives us a peace that passes all understanding.

Update Monday evening 12/4
Hello Everyone,
I had not planned to send an update today but there is so much going on I wanted to share with you. We have had a good day but a busy one.
Michael was able to make arrangements to fly home Friday on a different airline but at about the same time as us. Steve, a former boss of Angela's at Hewlett Packard took care of the travel arrangements for him. Brad, her boss at the time of Angela' passing is incredible. He was the only person at HP who knew of Angela's illness and physical struggles. He sent out a memo today to the HP family informing them of her death. He spoke very highly of Angela's contribution to the company even with the battle she faced. He made us even more proud of Angela, if that is possible. Steve and Brad and his wife are flying in to Nashville for the Memorial service. Amazing.
Michael's Dad, Del will also be flying to Nashville from South Dakota. We are so glad he will be able to be there for Michael.
Most of my family live in the Nashville area and I know a lot of them will be there. Mary Lou's brother and his wife are driving in from Cleveland, TN and her sister and her husband are flying in from Florida.
Ben, our hero, although he fusses when we call him that, is trying to make arrangements to fly in from Phoenix. Ben is the friend who worked with Angela at the time, who risked his life to be a living donor for Angela. He gave her three and one-half more years to share with Michael and our family. What a friend.
We just found out that Angela and Michael's neighbors and very good friends are making arrangements to fly over from London. They are the ones who picked us up at the airport and have taken Angela back and forth from the hospital many times. You will recognize them from their funny accents, although they say we are the ones with the accents. Their names are Mike and Leslie.
Jonathan is working on a video tribute to Angela that we will see at the Memorial service. He has also spent a lot of time working on motel arrangements and doing all kinds of things for us.
I guess I should give one more "Angel" award. Aaron has worked hard this week taking care of the babies and being "Mr. Mom". I think he is ready for Pamela to come home. We have told Pamela he will appreciate her more after this week.
We are really looking forward to the Memorial service next week. It will be a celebration of Angela' s life. We will have a couple of incredible singers and several tributes to Angela. I hope as many of you as possible will be able to join us. We have tried to prepare Michael for the possibility of a large number of people joining us that night. I think he has already seen from the phone calls and e-mails what we are talking about.
Mary Lou has been fussing at me for sending to many updates. I guess she is afraid I will bore you. I just think it is a way for us to stay connected with all of you and although we are doing fine we still have some long days and nights ahead. We are glad to be back in their home but there are so many pictures and memories here it is hard on all of us at times, although I am sure Michael most of all.
We look forward to seeing many of you next week although I know these messages go out to many people we may never see. Thank you for your continuing prayers and encouragement.

Update Wednesday 12/06
Hello Again,
I am sending out one last update before we make our return trip Friday. Just kidding… We probably had about thirty or more e-mails from people telling Mary Lou to leave me alone and how much the updates helped you feel connected with us. Believe me, the return messages and outpouring of love and support we have received from all of you has really carried us through. We gained as much or more from the communication as you did.
I do have one final request for prayer from all of you. Tomorrow will be our most difficult day other than last Friday, of course. Michael has worked tirelessly the past several days making the final arrangements for Angela. The four of us will pay our final respects at a brief service and say our final goodbyes. Of course, we know that this earthly body is but a shell and that is what our faith rests on. That still doesn't mean that it is any less difficult to say goodbye, even though she is now in a far better place.
Our prayer is that none of you will ever have to face a time in your life where you face this difficult a circumstance without the Lord in your life. Believe me, the difficulties will come whether you are prepared or not. I have heard our pastor, Bro. Jerry, say on many occasions; "There is nothing so certain as death and nothing so uncertain as the time." Do you know where you will spend eternity?
Mary Lou and Michael said last week when they found out that Teresa, the girl with the two children, was in dire need of a liver that Angela would have wanted her to receive one ahead of her. Angela had expressed a concern that she had already received a second liver and that there were people dying every day because a donor liver was not available. Angela would always put other people's needs ahead of her own.
Because of this we believe that Angela would tell each of us that if one person came to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior because of the influence of her story, she would gladly have taken this step into eternity for them.
Please pray for all of us Thursday and for a safe trip home on Friday. We are looking forward to the Memorial Service on Monday the 11th and spending time with our family and friends.

To our Special Friends,
Tuesday, December 1st, will be three years since Angela's Home Going. Thanks to several of our friends who have called, or sent emails telling us you are thinking of us and praying for us. One special friend even brought a big pot of soup and a goody box with lots of treats. I won't name her, but I bet our Sunday School class could guess her name very quickly. I started to send this out earlier today and changed my mind. Now, I can't go to sleep until I tell many of our friends how much we appreciate your allowing us to keep Angela's memory alive by sharing memories of her. I shared with our Sunday School class a few weeks ago how important it is to talk about loved ones you have lost. We have experienced several losses in our class the past few months and years. I believe this is an important part of the grieving process. We have a natural tendency not to bring up the name of a loved one who has gone on to be with our Lord, either because we are uncomfortable, or are afraid we will bring up memories which will make them sad. I promise you that in almost every case you would find the person would love for you to talk about their loved one.
Another special friend sent us an email that she was praying for us because she knew this was a sad day for us. My immediate response to her was to thank her, but also to let her know that even though it was a sad day it is also a day of remembrance and celebration of Angela's life. We know that we will see her again and that she would not want to return to us, even if it were possible.
We will be going to Pamela's house early in the morning to keep the babies while she works. She and Aaron will be working late tomorrow night so we probably won't be home until very late. Can any of you grandparents think of a better kind of therapy than spending the day with your grandkids.
We pray that each of you had a great Thanksgiving and look forward to celebrating a very MERRY CHRISTMAS with all of you. May the Lord continue to bless each of you and your families.

I requested a picture of Angela to post here in her memory on this the third anniversary of her HomeGoing. I received the following email from her father. Please take the time to view the video since Bill has given us the honor of posting the link here. I have just viewed it and it is an awesomely beautiful tribute to our dear departed angel who was so well named, Angela.

This is a video tribute to Angela, that her brother Jonathan Davis did for her Memorial Service a week after her HomeGoing. It lasts about eight minutes. If you think it would be okay, we would love for you to put it on Angela's site with the following comments.
Thanks,

This is a video tribute that Angela's brother, Jonathan, did in her honor for her Memorial Service. It capsules her worldwide travels for her company, Hewlett Packard. We especially love the photograph of Angela with a large group of HP executives and bankers, all male, except for her. This video captures Angela's spirit and winning smile.
I am posting it in honor of the third anniversary of her Homegoing on December 1, 2009. We miss her greatly, but know we will see her again.
