SCRIPTURES FOR HEALING AND COMFORT

SCRIPTURES FOR HEALING AND COMFORT

“And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly: and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (1 Thess. 5:23)
Exodus 15:26; Genesis 15:15; Judges 8:32; I Chron. 29:28; Psalms 90:10: Isaiah 53.

Isaiah 53:5 reveals a threefold redemptive work that would be accomplished through the suffering Messiah. This verse reveals the mystery:
1. He was wounded for our transgressions and bruised for our iniquity. This speaks of spiritual healing and is related to the forgiveness of sins.
2. The chastisement of our peace was upon Him. This speaks of emotional healing for the mind and soul.
3. With His stripes we are healed. This refers to physical healing for the body.
Spiritual healing transforms the human spirit; emotional healing renews the mind; and physical healing brings healing and life to the physical body.

Colossians 2:14 “Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to His cross.”

2 Corinthians 5:21 “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”

Hebrews 5:7-8 “Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared; though he were a son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered.”

Romans 8:2; Matthew 8:17; Matthew 6:15; Matthew 6:12, 14-15; Matthew 18:34-35; Acts 10:38.

James 5:14-15 “Is any sick among you? Let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he has committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.”
James 5:16; I Cor. 12:8-10; I Cor. 1:7-8; Psalms 107:20.
