Pray please? It's not me this time...I'm venting, sorry!
I just found out [brother called my mom] His ex-wife was operated on for lung problems. Well, when they got in there they found out it was lung cancer. They had to remove half her one lung.
She's been a very heavy smoker for many years and had developed high blood pressure over the last few years.
I mean "HIGH" This gal has readings of say 200/180 and worse then that.
That would be bad enough.
AND! she was told to get rid of the cigerettes. Did she? NO!
Infact I think's she's been smoking more.
Her son [my only nephew] has begged her many, many times over the years to please quit.
She smoked while this kid was just a baby and the result of that is he's got asthma now.
He's got three little ones that love their grandma, does she care. I think obviously not. The one is just a new baby boy. [gabe] I would love to scream right in her face for what she's doing to her son. She is very lucky she's got the son she's got. Some of us aren't so lucky [like me-long story] I'd give my right arm to have her son, who really cares about his mom and she treats him like he's got no bussiness telling her to put down the cigs. She told him one time a couple of years ago "go to hell [sorry ladies I'm quoting] Mind you're own business"
I think it IS his business, she's his mom and he wants her to be okay.
I just remember what I did to get to be where I'm at today. I lost boob, hair, eyelashes, eyebrows, and have residula effects from this crud,, BUT! I'm still here.
I wasn't thrilled either, but I wasn't looking forward to going anywhere just now.
I told my mom the other night, this kinda crud makes me SO angry. The ones that have had or have this are doing whatever we can to stay here and be healthy. To have time with hubby's, kinds and grand kids. And she's just throwing her life away, and for what? a cigerette? [sp?]
I've always said that's one [cigs] thing that your money is literally going up in smoke.
What a waste of life when you have so many things to live for.
We don't know what stage it is yet, so depending on what they tell her is going to dictate her treatment [s].
If she'll even go through it...
I just don't understand how people can have such little regard for life or the feelings and the love of others.
I'm going to go now, before I upset anyone, too late huh?

P.S To last post..below.
I forgot to add that her father died of emphazema [sp?] about 10 years ago by now. Her sister had a brain tumor about 20 years ago. Her other sister had breast cancer and now it has moved to her brain. Her mother died of diabetes a few years ago.
And they all smoke!!!!!!!!!! The whole darn family keeps puffing.
Wouldn't you think that would be enough cancer for her to take care of herself better then she obviously has?

RAVE ON, my friend! I have always said that such people need to be forceably placed somewhere where they can't get hold of the thing that they abuse that is destroying them until they can be cured of their addiction. Not really... but it is such a crying pity to see folks destroying themselves and others with their addictions. That also goes for overeating to the point of risking a person's life with the results as with smoking, drugs, alcohol and other addictions that destroy a person.
We need to set you up a little podium somewhere so that you can shout it to the highest hills that, "You are destroying yourselves and others as well with your addiction." Sadly in most cases, all we can do is pray that they will "see the light" before it is too late.
