Please pray for Maurita. She received word that the biopsy on the lump in her breast is malignant. She will be meeting with the doctors to discuss the options for treatment. Saturday evening she was not reacting normally over most of her body and mind. She drove herself to the hospital after talking to a doctor. They determined that her sodium was low again--normal is 34 and hers was 24. Tests have ruled out any stroke symptoms and she may have gone home today.

Thank you so much Ryan. I will try to get an update on her when we get back to town on Sunday. She is a precious lady and one of the finest Christians i have ever had the privilege of knowing.

Maurita Fletcher will have surgery Thursday 24th to remove the cancerous lump in her breast. They are in the process of deciding on the treatment afterwards.

Maurita's breast cancer surgery is scheduled for Thursday September 24with lymph node biopsy about 7:00 a.m and the breast lumpectomy at 2:00 in the afternoon. As usual, they said she would go home that night. Her daughter is taking her and staying with her through the night either at home or at the hospital.
Her next door neighbor is going to be there for her on Friday. She is still hoping to try the new treatment where a "tube"(?) will be placed directly on the spot at the time of the surgery and then radiation treatment will be given twice daily for seven days which would mean that
she would have to go back and forth twice each day for a week. There are a couple of medical reasons for this choice of surgery and follow-up instead of complete removal which would avoid radiation.

Maurita was scheduled to have a biopsy at 11:00 at Summit on Thursday 24th with a breast lumpectomy at 2:00. Today they removed the lump and also four lymph nodes. The surgeon said that was a normal procedure and they will have to wait for the results from testing on them. They expected her to be in recovery several hours before her daughter took her home with her.

Maurita is now at home and is feeling okay but tires easily. Her sister is coming Sunday to stay a week. Maurita will have radiation treatments at a later date. She wants to thank everyone for their prayers and expressions of concern.

Today Maurita Fletcher had the first of 34 radiation treatments and survived it okay.
Here is an email reply that I received from her today. Please continue praying for her.
| Quote: | | Thanks for you continued prayers. God is always good. I am so grateful for His loving care. I had my first radiation treatment today. I had started the oral meds about two weeks ago. So far there have been no negative side effects. For that I am very grateful. Maurita |
