Please pray for my brother John and his wife Birdie

Please pray for my brother John and his wife Birdie. Her mother has been suffereing from Alzheimer's for a number of years and for the past several years has been in a nursing home. For the past few months, she has been uncommunicative and will only eat if Birdie feeds her. The other day, hospice told them that they would notify Birdie when her mother has only a few days left. Birdie has been visiting her mother every day and recently has been going twice a day to feed her. This has been very hard on her and Johnny has been so supportive, but it has been hard on him, too.

I will indeed pray for them. I know what they are going through as Albert and I did that with my grandmother (mother's mother) for many longggggg years. When they will only eat for one person, it is really difficult. In our case, it was my husband that she would eat for. One night she finally crawled over the protective rails on her bed and dived out onto the floor. She went into a coma and never came out of it. She was 93. Just before she died, she sang a verse and chorus of, "At the Cross', and died. I know that it won't be too many more years before I will see her again in heaven. After all of the sadness......that is the GOOD part.

My love goes out to John and Birdie. please tell them that I will be praying for them and will notify the rest of our family to do the same.

Please pray for my brother

Johnny just called me and said that Hospice just told Birdie that death is imminent. We are prepared to put our online listings "on vacation" and close the store for a few days when we know the funeral arrangements. As their house is full to the brim we will stay at a hotel. Johnny said that Birdie is doing okay, but that the impact hasn't hit her, yet.

I wish I could think of something comforting to say that would ease their sorrow but there are no words I could say that could do that. So instead I will continue to pray that the Lord will comfort them.

Please give them my love and tell them that I am remembering them in my prayers. Please keep us informed as to the situation as time progresses. I have John and Birdie on my email list but I never get email back from them when I send out my "usual" emails that I send to my entire list. That is par for the course for everyone, which is fine and expected. I will definitely send a personal one when you let us know about her mother' death. I feel sure that the last thing on their minds at this time would be checking their email.

I'm quite behind in the forums, just catching up. They're in my prayers - you all are.

Hi Kimberly, I have been concerned about you since I haven't seen you posting for awhile. I hope you, Howie and your parents are doing well. (all those adorable pets of yours also)

Hi,

Just wanted to let you all know that Birdie's mother died last night after a long battle with Alzheimer's. Don't know when the funeral will be, but as soon as it is set we'll pack up and go to Austin for a few days. Birdie had turned her life over to her mother for the past five or six years, and even in the last three or so, when her mother was put in a nursing home, Birdie was there every day.

Love,

Fran
Mary

I'll be praying for them. I know that after the services, after the family has gone home, then the reality will set in and Birdie will need to refocus. Her life has been so much with her mother's care that I am sure she will feel lost without her usual routine.
