Sunday the youth choir sang in the traditional service. One of the songs had a very "contemporary" Accompaniment.(read loud rock beat) However the words to the carol were the same. It was odd that the two went together. I thought of the presentation of the gospel to each new generation. How the "old unchanging words" of the gospel are put to a "new tune" so new listeners will tune in and come to know the real author of music.

Believe it or not, our library has a jam session every Thursday night. About a month ago a lady who plays a standup bass wanted John to play his cornet with her on "Joy to the World" - jazz style. It sounded great!

I agree!
Smokey,
I agree totally with you. We have to accept the fact that kids are just not "into" the same style of things as us "sensible" adults. LOL And we have a responsibility to reach them in spite of having to leave our comfort zone. After all, didn't Jesus leave His comfort zone to reach us?
