We had the farrier out early last thursday morning to shoe one of our horses. I had to set the rooster a few hours early so we could still get our daily bisquit and coffee from Micky D's. We have three horses total in two different locations so we spend a lot of time on the road. We were having our show horse shod on this particular day and I found myself thinking of the scripture about having our feet "shod with the preparation of the Gospel." There are many similarities in the two actions.
If we failed to have the horse shod her feet would not stand up to the daily grind of training, excercising and performing. Her feet would become unevenly worn and ragged. They would develope chips and cracks. They would become very sore causing her to stumble and fall. If not corrected, the cracks would become wider and deeper opening into the heart of the hoof introducing infections that could cost the horse it's very life.
We risk the same end if we try to "run the race" and "fight the good fight" without being properly shod with the preparation of the Gospel. We cannot hope to stand up to the daily grind of working for the Lord, avoiding stumbling blocks and carrying burdens if we do not first prepare ourselves with the truths in God's Word.
And just as we know the tasks that lay ahead for our horse, God knows what tasks, trials and battles lay ahead for His children. We make sure our horse is shod with the right shoes to best accomplish the work that will be required of her. We, too, need to aquire the truths, knowledge and wisdom that will see us safely through the work ahead in the harvest. Prayerfully seek God's guidance and He will lovingly lead you to all He has for you, to strengthen you and make you succesful in your life with Him. God bless and keep you.

Encouragement
Thank you so very much for your encouragement. My life seems "everyday" to me but I am sure there is much there for talking about. Especially to a cajun who likes to talk like I do. LOL We are always busy with something, then there are the animals and of course Knock is always into something and Ray, my son's little boy, is forever into something. I am looking forward to the forum. Thank you for allowing me to do it.

It may seem ordinary to you, but to others it is fascinating. The "ordinary" daily life of a Christian can be such a marvelous witness to others. How you handle the joys, frustrations and sorrows of each and every day can radiate your love for Christ and have an unbelievable affect on others who read what you have to say. Bless you my friend in your new endeavor. I will be praying that the Lord will give you just exactly the right words to post each time that you write of your life's experiences.
