I am having a hard time writing today. It is like I ran out of words, and don't know how to deal with the hurt that is still with some friends, leftover pain from the loss of a child.
I was working in the garden, thinking about losses and how they change us. It is hard to accept change, and even harder to accept change resulting from a loss. I think with those kinds of changes, we have to open ourselves up to different lifestyles sometimes. We can't go back to the life we had before the losses.
But maybe this makes no sense. We don't readily accept change at any age, and we fight big changes. We want to go back to the way things were before the loss. And we can't. And that is a sort of defeat...so once more, we are back where we started, but we add defeat to the loss.
So I have no words right now.
But tomorrow I'll go right back out to the garden, where even though things still change, the changes are usually for the better. If we keep planting seeds, we're bound to have flowers.
