There is a joy in the journey,
There's a Light we can love on the way,
There is a Wonder, and while there's still life,
And freedom for those who obey.
And all those who seek it shall find it,
a pardon for all who believe,
hope for the hopeless,
and sight for the blind.
To all who've been born of the Spirit,
and who share incarnation with Him.
Who belong to eternity, stranded in time,
and weary of struggling with sin.
Forget not the hope that's before you,
and never stop counting the cost.
Remember the hopelessness, when you were lost.

Build a Ladder - Road to Eternity
Build a Ladder
Build a ladder to the stars,
Climb a rung each day.
If the past held sorrowing
Time will pave the way.
To rebuild you life again.
Take the Master's hand;
If your step is faltering,
He will understand.
Let the future hold no doubt,
Upward, always climb.
Resolve to give it all you've got,
All things come in time.
Once you've reached the pinnacle,
Braved the storms and gales,
You'll confirm with faith-filled heart
That Jesus never fails!
And, he dreamed, and behold a ladder set upon the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven..

THE ROAD TO ETERNITY
THE ROAD TO ETERNITY
Life is but a stopping place,
A pause in what's to be,
A resting place along the road,
To sweet eternity.
We all have different journeys,
Different paths along the way,
We all were meant to learn some things,
But never meant to stay.
Our destination is a place,
Far greater than we know,
For some, the journey's quicker,
For some, the journey's slow.
And when the journey finally ends,
We'll claim a great reward,
And find an everlasting peace
Together with the Lord.

A Kingly Giver
Be patient-- life is very brief,
It passes quickly by,
And if it prove a troubled scene,
Beneath a stormy sky,
It is but a shaded night,
That brings a morn of radiance bright.
Be hopeful. Cheerful faith will bring
A loving joy to thee.
And make thy life a hymn of praise
From doubt and murmurs free.
Whilst like the sunbeams thou will bless
And bring to others happiness.
Be earnest. An immortal soul
Should be a worker true.
Employ thy talents for thy God,
And ever keep in view
The judgment scene, the last great,
When heaven & earth shall pass us.
Be prayerful ask and thou shalt have
Strength equal to the day.
Prayer clasps the hand that guides thee.
Ask largely and thy God will be
A Kingly giver unto thee.

JOYFUL THINGS
JOYFUL THINGS
At times I'm so discouraged with problems of the day
I fail to see the joyful things that are along the way.
When troubles overwhelm me, it's then my nerves may fray.
That's when I need to take the time to simply sit and pray.
Reflecting on God's many gifts, it makes me so aware...
Of all the joy in little things around me everywhere!
I must try to remember... though problems come my way,
Not to miss the joyful things and the beauty of the day.

A New Day Dawns
I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills.
From whence cometh my help?
My help cometh from the Lord, who made
heaven and earth. Psalms 121: 1-2
A New Day Dawns
Another day is dawning
Another day's begun
Another day to turn to God
And pray, "Thy will be done"
A day to slay doubt's dragon,
To know within your soul
That as you give yourself to Him
He'll bless and make you whole.
A day to live with purpose
A day to show you care
When others turn to you distraught
Confused or in despair.
A day to share God's blessings
In quiet countless ways
That touch the heart with hope and joy
And brighten cloudy days.
If we might have a second chance
To live the day once more,
And rectify mistakes we've made
To even up the score.
If we might have a second chance
To use the knowledge gained,
Perhaps we might become at last
As fine as God ordained.
But though we can't retrace our steps,
However stands the score,
Today brings another chance
For us to try once more.
A day for sweet rejoicing
For gratitude and praise
Because His love enfolds you
Both now, and all your days.

A Beautiful Reminder
A Beautiful Reminder
I woke up this morning and knew that today, the sun
would not be shining and the clouds would be gray.
As I stepped outside, rain fell upon my head.
My car wouldn't start so I walked instead.
I dropped my head in disgust and asked the Lord for one request.
"Lord, why is it that things won't go my way?" He gently replied,
"Dear child it is because you didn't thank me yesterday."
I woke you up and enabled you to see the sun again. I gave you
shelter, protected your family, and even let you make a new friend.
I blessed you far greater than ever before.
But you were too busy to thank me once more
You didn't feel sick because I maintained your health,
You had money in your pocket becaue I maintained your wealth.
You had shoes on your feet and clothes to wear, too.
You had plenty of food to eat, and what did you do?
You ignored me and went about your tasks. But when you
wanted something you never hesitated to ask.
I was there when you needed me, and that wasn't too long ago, But when things started going your way, it was me you did not know.
As if that weren't enough, I provided your favorite luxuries,
This was something I didn't have to do, they weren't even necessities.
And when it was time to get on your knees and show your gratitude,
You decided that after such a fulfilling day, you weren't in the mood.
So I decided to give you just a little test,
To show you how it would feel to stop being blessed.
I began to realize what the Lord was saying
And when I got home, I fell to my knees and started praying.
He said, "My child, you have learned and you know I do forgive,
But remember to remember this day as long as you shall live.
I love filling your life with joy, and your pain I'll alleviate it, but
Just a simple thank you would show how much you appreciate it."
