In God We TrustGod Is Not Politically Correct
(This was sent to me by a friend. I have no idea if it is ok to post it or not. It is a really good article so I am going to take a chance that Dr. Ollison won't be offended.)
God Is Not Politically Correct
Dr. Larry Ollison, Ph.D.
The governments of the United States, the European Union, the United Nations and Russia are all backing the "Roadmap to Peace" as presented by the President of the United States. Personally, I honor and respect the President. I believe he is a godly man who truly believes that Jesus is Lord.
However, I am saddened by the "Roadmap to Peace" that has been forced upon Israel through political pressure. If it is true that political correctness is to agree with this road map, then let me say this. God is not politically correct.
God has not changed. The things He disapproved of during the time of Noah, Abraham, Moses and Paul, He still disapproves of today. God is not an evolving creature that changes His character depending upon His environment. God's Word always has been and will always be true. His promises and His prophecies will all be fulfilled.
Growing up in the United States of America, I have become accustomed to democracy. We vote on everything. In America everyone from school leaders to community leaders to state leaders to national leaders, all are in their positions because they were the most popular. Growing up in this society tends to make one think that if something is popular, it's right. When it comes to character, righteousness, and the spiritual things of God, nothing could be further from the truth. God's kingdom is not a democracy.
Everything that was created was created by and for His Son, Jesus. We were created to fellowship with Him. It may come as a shock to some people, but in the Kingdom of God, God is the King. We don't vote on the rules. We don't debate the rules. We don't argue the rules. Our job is to willingly obey the rules.
The good news is God is a good God and He rewards those who believe in Him and receive His Son by faith with eternal life and a multitude of good gifts. God is the God of love. In fact, God is love. God is a good God and He is just. God is light and God is love. However, God is not politically correct nor will He ever be.
So the point is this. When you come to the point of decision in your life on any subject, never make your decision because of what is politically correct. Make you decision based on what the Word of God says. Only then will you choose correctly.
Reference Scriptures
Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth. (Philippians 2:9-10)
He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. (1 John 4:
This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. (John 1:5)
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning. (James 1:17)
God is a just judge, and God is angry with the wicked every day. (Psalm 7:11)

In God We Trust
By Faith Keczan
Samuel Thompson wrote: "I don't believe in Santa Claus, but I'm not going to sue somebody for singing a Ho-Ho-Ho song in December."
I don't agree with Darwin, but I didn't go out and hire a lawyer when my high school teacher taught his theory of evolution.
Life, liberty or your pursuit of happiness will not be endangered because someone says a 30-second prayer before a football game.
So what's the big deal? It's not like somebody is up there reading the entire book of Acts. They're just talking to a God they believe in and asking him to grant safety to the players on the field and the fans going home from the game. "But it's a Christian prayer," some will argue.
Yes, and this is the United States of America, a
country founded on Christian principles. And we are in the Bible Belt. According to our very own phone book, Christian churches outnumber all others better than 200-to-1. So what would you expect-somebody chanting Hare Krishna?
If I went to a football game in Jerusalem, I would expect to hear a Jewish prayer. If I went to a soccer game in Baghdad, I would expect to hear a Muslim prayer.
If I went to a ping pong match in China, I would expect to hear someone pray to Buddha. And I wouldn't be offended. It wouldn't bother me one bit. When in Rome...
"But what about the atheists?" is another argument. What about them? Nobody is asking them to be baptized. We're not going to pass the collection plate. Just humor us for 30 seconds. If that's asking too much, bring a Walkman or a pair of earplugs. Go to the bathroom. Visit the concession stand. Call your lawyer. Unfortunately, one or two will make that call. One or two will tell thousands what they can and cannot do. I don't think a short prayer at a football game is going to shake the world's foundations.
Christians are just sick and tired of turning the other cheek while our courts strip us of all our rights. Our parents and grandparents taught us to pray before eating, to pray before we go to sleep. Our Bible tells us just to pray without ceasing. Now a handful of people and their lawyers are telling us to cease praying. God, help us.
And if that last sentence offends you, well...just sue me.
The silent majority has been silent too long... it's time we let that one or two who scream loud enough to be heard, that the vast majority don't care what they want...it is time the majority rules!
It's time we tell them, you don't have to pray, you don't have to say the pledge of allegiance, you don't have to believe in God or attend services that honor Him. That is your right, and we will honor your right... but by golly you are no longer going to take our rights away .we are fighting back...and we WILL WIN! After all, the God you have the right to denounce is on our side!
God bless us one and all, especially those who denounce Him...
God bless America, despite all her faults. still the greatest nation of all...
God bless our servicemen who are fighting to protect our right to pray and worship God...
May this be the year the silent majority is heard and we put God back as the foundation of our families and institutions.

"IN GOD WE TRUST
Author unknown
You may have heard in the news that a couple of Post Offices in Texas have been forced to take down small posters that say "IN GOD WE TRUST
Anyway, I heard proposed on a radio station show, that we all write "IN GOD WE TRUST" on the back of all our mail. After all, that is our national motto, and it's on all the money we use to buy those stamps. I think it is a wonderful idea.
We must take back our nation from all the people who think that anything that offends them should be removed. If you like this idea, please pass it on and DO IT. The idea of writing or stamping
"IN GOD WE TRUST" on our envelopes sounds like a great idea to me. I'M HAVING MY STAMP MADE TODAY!
It has been reported that 86% of Americans believe in God. Therefore, I have a very hard time understanding why there is such a mess about having "In God We Trust" on our money and having God in the Pledge of Allegiance.
Could it be that WE just need to take some action and tell those 14% to, "sit down and shut up"?
***********************************************
Carol7:
I have a hard time understanding this myself. IMHO, the easiest way to resolve the matter is to put it on the ballot during an election and let the people speak by casting their vote. In the past presidential election I voted on state referendums, so why couldn't there be state referendums concerning using the words "Under God" in each state's public schools - not to mention prayer?
As for those complaining about "In God We Trust" on our currency, if it is so distasteful why are they so busy trying to earn it here? After all, there are several other countries in the world they can move to, make a living, and not be offended. Just my thoughts, Carol

"In God we trust." National Motto 1956
"O thus be it ever when freemen shall stand
between their lov'd home and the war's desolation!
Blest with vict'ry and peace may the heav'n rescued land
praise the power that hath made and preserv'd us a nation!
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto 'In God Is Our Trust'
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave."
National Anthem
"Let it simply be asked, where is the security for property, for reputation, for life, if the sense of religious obligation desert the oaths which are the instruments of investigation in courts of justice?"
George Washington
"So help me God."
Judiciary Act of 1789
"The greater part of evidence will always consist of the testimony of witnesses. This testimony is given under those solemn obligations which an appeal to the God of Truth impose; and if oaths should cease to be held sacred, our dearest and most valuable rights would become insecure."
John Jay
"The inclusion of God in our pledge therefore would further acknowledge the dependence of our people and our government upon the moral directions of the Creator." Legislative History
"One nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."
Pledge of Allegiance, 1954
"Human law must rest its authority ultimately upon the authority of that law which is divine."
James Wilson
"And can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are the gift of God? That they are not to be violated but with His wrath?"
Thomas Jefferson
The laws of nature are the laws of God; whose authority can be superseded by no power on earth."
George Mason 1772
"Laws of nature and of nature's God"
Declaration of Independence 1776
"The transcendent law of nature and of nature's God, which declares that the safety and happiness of society are the objects at which all political institutions aim, and to which all such institutions must be sacrificed."
James Madison
"This law of nature, being co-eval with mankind and dictated by God Himself, is of course superior in obligation to any other. It is binding over all the globe, in all countries, and at all times: no human laws are of any validity, if contrary to this; ?upon these two foundations, the law of nature and the law of revelation, depend all human laws; that is to say, no human laws should be suffered to contradict these."
William Blackstone
