If you would please?Hi everybody,
I know I don't post here very often, so I hope you won't mind me asking for some good thoughts for Wednesday. I'm having my annual mammogram. I am for the most part okay with this, as I'm followed very carefully by my breast surgeon. I just saw him in July and everything was okay.
But....there's always that worry that things won't be as you want them to be.
So I'm asking for some good thoughts as I move towards this day. I'm also having a dexa scan to see how the old bones are really doing. I'm not worried about this.
I'm sorry for all those here that are having difficulties in their own lives. I might not post all the time, but I'm in here reading most every night and wishing the best for all of you.
Take care there/God bless

Thank you for always being here, Annie. Somehow I have felt that you would be. You are in my prayers as always, my friend. I am late getting my mammogram so I will call and make an appointment to do that. Gee, I didn't mean to let that get by me! Those mammograms are so important! I hope all the women reading this keep those up to date.

Bless your heart, frequency of posting is not important. Of course the prayers will be said on your behalf ! These situations are important and and frightening. No one should have to face it alone. Through prayers we can encircle each other with a strength from God.

HURRAHH!
Everything went well with both tests. The bones are okay
That surprises me cuz' I walk like a bent old lady [from the arthritis]
But if they say they're okay, then I guess they are.
The mammogram, she told me is the same as last year, no changes seen. YEEHAW!
Thanks for all the good thoughts and prayers. I appreciate it more then you know.
Take care there/God bless

Praise the Lord for your good reports! What a relief to know that you are cancer free!! Thanks for letting us know and I hope you will continue lurking even if you don't post all the time. (I love it when you do post, however!)

Elena,
I try very hard to keep positive about my status. Which I hope continues to be NED [no evidence of disease]
I only had a dexa scan [bone density test] not the same as a bone scan.[cancer testing]
As far the boob, it looked good. Dr.J [surgeon] does an ultrasound and breast exam when he sees me. I've got my next exam with him next month [19th] That appt will just strengthen [for me] the results of the mammogram.
I certainly hope I continue to do well, but I know that there are no guarentees as far as this cancer things goes.
I guess I just have to keep plugging along and pray that things go as well as they've gone the last few years.
Thanks so much for being my friend. You are THE BEST!
Take care there dear/God bless

I will continue to remember you in my prayers, dear friend.
About that bone density thingie, I am losing bone mass rapidly and can't take any of the bone rebuilding meds. It is disturbing to know this but other than trying to take my calcium and getting enough exercise, I am pretty much limited as to what I can do to stop this.
Everytime I "talk" to you, I remind myself to get my mammogram. I am jotting that down to make an appointment to do that right now.

Yes, I have indeed had my mammogram. I haven't heard anything back from them so I am hopefully assuming that everything is ok. I will be headed to see my regular doctor soon and then my GYN. I need to find out what can be done for my bone loss since I can't take any of the meds by mouth that build the bones. I think there is possibly a shot that might help some.
I have been accepted to be a participant in the Federal study of Sisters with Cancer which is all about breast cancer. Since I am the only female from my mother down to me who hasn't been diagnosed with it yet, I figure I need to help find out more about the terrible disease. My sis who has just been diagnosed is going to take the blood test to find if it is a generic thing with her. It does cost thousands if you just go to get it yourself. She did qualify for her insurance to cover it, but it will only cost me almost 5 hundred dollars to have mine since I am her sister.
More as I find out more..... Yep, I am getting serious about getting my mammogram these days as I hope everyone who reads this will be also. Love ya, dearie.

I think you might be talking about the "BRACA1 and BRACA2"
I had that a couple of years ago trying to get the okay for the pro mast. I wasn't positive for this test...which in the long run is a good thing, in that it tells you, you are at a higher risk for other cancers, such as ovarian, uterine and a couple of others that run in families.
Glad to hear that you had your mammo, but it makes me angry that you didn't know before you left there if everything was okay or not. I know before I leave the hospital. And you are suppose to have your letter or notification within a 2 week period. So dear depending on how long it's been since you've had it, I'd be calling that doctors office everyday, till they answered me.
Okay, where's my podium set up down there, so I can start hollaring?
Well, you know me I've got a large sized mouth, and it's rep preceeds me..
I had better get going now, take care there dear.God bless you
ReAl GoOd!!!

Thanks for that feedback, Annie. I didn't get the mammogram through the doctor's office but did tell them who my doctor is. Her office is at Vanderbilt also. I will call them first thing Monday. They said two weeks and it has been over that for sure. I will make an appointment with her when I call as it has been over a year and a half since I have seen her.
Your podium is set up in a nice rose garden here in one of our beautiful parks. You won't see the most people there but you will have a lot of beautiful roses to look at and smell while you vent. Which would you rather have, roses or lots of people? I know how much you love roses!!!!!!!!!!!!!
