I've been hearing a lot about hope. People are putting hope in government, churches, family, politicians, money -- all kinds of things. I have even set some of these up as little "gods" in my life, by worshiping them with my time and attention, without even realizing it.
Everything of this world that we put hope in will eventually fail us. That's by design. Hope in money or wealth has been taking a real hit lately for many people. I started praying lately that God would expose those things in my life where I was putting false hope. He's done it too, and it's been embarrassing to me.
I, even I, am the LORD, And besides Me there is no savior. Isa 43:11
Hope is only as good as that in which we are hoping. If we hope in anyone or anything but Jesus, we are guaranteeing disappointment.
