All we seem to hear about anymore is global warming. Well, I'd like to go on record as saying I'd sure like to have a bit of that global warming in my neck of the woods. It seems like winter is never going to end. I don't remember when the last time is that I was warm and comfortable. We have had a long, hard winter this year and I know Winter has a job to do but undoubtely this year's work must be a cost plus job cause it's dragging on forever. I want to feel a warm breeze and see green on the trees. I want to be able to leave my house without looking like the Michelin man. I want to be able to move my fingers and toes without hearing the ice cracking in my joints. I want to be able to plant my garden. But wishing don't make it so and I can't will Spring to magically appear. I have to wait until the appointed time. It's hard to wait but I must be patient.
It's the same way with the things of God. When I am going through the cold winter of a trial in my life, I want the warm winds of God's deliverance to scoop me up and fly me away from the hard times. But I must be patient and wait on God's appointed time. Just like Winter has a job to do, a goal to accomplish, so does the trial I am going through. Most times I don't know what that is but I can trust that God always knows and that He is doing everything for my good. And when the warm winds blow in my life again, new things grow in my life's garden and the harvest I reap will be worth all the cold days and nights spent in trial.
