Dogs in the neighborhood

DOGS IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD
By Smokey the Dog

Do you have names for the dogs in your neighborhood?
As we have walked Smokey through our neighborhood we have come up with names for some of them. There’s Aaack, and Pointer, and the horse dogs. The name Aaack deserves some explanation. He’s called that because every time he was outside when we came by he would dash to the end of his leash and go AACK! when he came up short. Pointer would often just stand there pointing in our direction, and the horse dogs are 3 huge Mastiffs.
I was thinking about this and I wondered what my name was in the neighborhood? Would they think of Jesus when they thought of me, or would my name be mud, or sleepy, or dopey or goofy? How about you? What is YOUR nickname in the neighborhood?
God's Warrior

I will have to think about that one for a little while. That is a totally new concept for me but a good one to think about......

We name other's animals too

I find myself doing the same as you and have wondered if others did the same. But with me it is horses. There are a number of them along the road to the farm where we have two of our horses. One is a pony. He could be the twin of a pony who belongs to a five year old girl at church. Her pony's name is Polly so I have named the one beside the road, Wally. I told her his name was Wally because he was Polly's twin brother. Her eyes were big as she asked,"How do you know they are twins?" There are also two horses in one small pasture farther along the road. One is the color of cafe' au lait. The other has a coat color called cremelo. I call the pair coffee and cream. If one of them was gone I would miss it even though I have never done any more than look at them as I drive by. Them just being there is a landmark along my trip. We never know when we are having the same affect on someone we may never speak to. Our steady, uneventful lives lived for God may be a landmark for another who is trying to make the same journey as us. Thankyou for reminding me of this.
