Did I Fail?I attended a Christian men's seminar recently where I heard this: "Failure is not failing. Failure is quitting." It was backed up with this example: "You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there." Now that sounds obvious and simple, but how profound is that?
Some of us feel like failures because we've messed up a little or a lot. Others are so paralyzed with the fear of failure that they don't move.
History is FULL of people who had what we consider failures throughout their lives. A few that come to my mind are Thomas Edison, Abraham Lincoln, Moses, the Apostle Peter, and so on. None of these people quit, though.
Here's the reality. We will all mess up! Bad too. That's okay. God expects it. He gives us mercy, forgiveness, and grace. That's so we won't give up.
What do you think? Have you labeled yourself a failure in some arena?

Many times in the ministry I have felt like a failure but I keep pressing on. God has called me to be a witness. If I do that, I have succeeded. The results are up to God. I have no power over that. But when we are down the devil will lie to us and it is hard at times not believe him.

We certainly learn from our failures. Goodness knows, as many as I have had I should be the smartest person on earth. We need to pick ourselves back up and pray and try and pray and try and keep on until we succeed. A little like the lesson we were all taught in our youth, "If at first you don't succeed then try, try again." They forgot the most important part however. Prayer should definitely be a part of that mix.
