All is well on the farmSteve came home from breakfast yesterday morning and said we had to go up to the old farm to check on the horses there. He had seen a friend at breakfast who passed there and said a brown horse was out in the road. Glory is brown now since she has been turned out and the sun has washed her out. I had a migraine so the trip was less than pleasant for me but it had to be done. Thankfully, when we got there all 3 of our girls were accounted for and they are fat and sassy. Actually, more fat than sassy. We picked feet with no problems and I got on Glory's back. She hasn't been ridden in months but she didn't turn a trick. I think when the donks go home we will bring her back to the barn and start riding her again. We had brought her to the farm to put weight on her and it has certainly worked. Ginger is looking better, body wise, than she has looked since we got her but her feet are getting worse. She has more proud flesh built up and there is nothing that can be done about it. She is comfortable for now but when the weather begins to turn cold we will have to put her down. She is over 30 and she has had a hard life. Letting her go peacefully will be best for her but we will miss her none the less. She is a special old gal.
