I am on a lot of Christian discussion boards, probably too many. Today I came across a statement that stopped me in my tracks. They were discussing TV shows, and one person said "I'm hopelessly addicted to old TV shows too."
"Hopelessly addicted to old TV shows." I guess that bothered me.
1John 2:15 says; Love not the world, neither the things [that are] in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
I admit I am not perfect, but shouldn't we be hopelessly addicted to Christ, and not old TV shows?

It seems we are all too easily distracted with things of the world but to say one is hopelessly addicted is very sad. The saddest thing is that they don't even see they have a problem. It's as if they think it is perfectly normal. How sad. The world is all backwards. They think we are weird because we follow God and strive to do His will instead of being politically correct. The world can think me weird. Doesn't bother me in the least. Only God's opinion of me counts. I like to get along with people but it will never be at the cost of compromising with God. He loves me too much and gave too much for me that I should turn my back on him for the sake of public opinion.
