The rose chalice offers,
A wine emblem for my lips.

A soldier for my savior.

Staining my words,
With the red badge of peace.

The pews lit with torches,
Of the maroon souls of the fighters.

Communion lifting the signets,
From the rings of our married fingers,

To the lamb.

Our husband wears the designs,
Upon the seals of his robes.

Soon, they rush as small children,
Beneath his gowns to stretch against his skin.

As the marks that forever paint his hands and feet.

He has married himself to warriors,
Who fight for and against him.

servants moving along the frosty path.
Wisps of blue paint a wintry fortress.

Walking to the house of our maker.

Candles lit gold guide us to the windy gates.

The rain clouds give way to reds and golds.

We fall to our knees,

The clouds gather beneath us,

Forming like Aladdin’s carpets,

And carry us home.

My heart.

Twirling within God’s watermark

Held up to the light,

It glows daintily inside July’s somber cry.

Please bring hope.

Please bring peace.

Guided on the breath of a morning star,

The faint eastern gales,

Mix with the tears of golden ghosts.

Those past,

press their hopes,

Lightly against my forehead.

And the light of a thousand crescent moons,

Passes into my spirit.

The cry of new born life,

Swims within my hungry spirit.

And I dance on this faded painting,

Fishing outside the frame of my despair,

For those who will sail with me on the bays of strength.
