Today I must have had my grump on when I came to work. You see we have what are called “Preferred Assignments” at work. Basically you can choose what assignments you want to have most often, based on seniority. Without going into all the gory details, I was dispatched on a call that should have been assigned to someone else. For some reason I had this feeling of anger and the thought popped into my head, “Why me?” That is William Six’s job.
Well I went anyway. There was no reason for arguing with the dispatcher over the radio, and it would be unprofessional too! Then I got to thinking that’s how we react in spiritual matters too. God calls us to do something, and we say “Why me?” too. We grouse and complain that it’s not my job, or say, “Why not call Joe? He’s the professional!” It’s best to do what God has called us to do, because we don’t know what Joe has been called to do. Besides God can call any Christian he chooses… He’s the dispatcher!
