I am so proud of myself right now. I am the world's worse at putting things off until it is too late. I always do that with my gardening, too, and then I am disappointed that my garden is less than it could be. But not today!!!

I bought some seeds at Walmart yesterday to add to the small stock I already had. Today I made some paper cups from newspaper. It was simple, keeps me from having to buy any, will eliminate the need to transplant, and will save the newspaper from the landfill. A win/win situation. I planted broccoli, peppers, straight neck squash, cucumbers and canteloupe. I will plant more but I have to make more cups. I did 18 this morning.

I have the order form filled out to send off to Cooks Garden. I hope I can actually get it sent. Maybe today will be the start of a new trend for me. Not likely but a girl can dream. LOL

that's a cool idea, starting them in paper cups made out of newspaper.

I've always liked to use the paper cups. I was really glad when I found out I could make my own. It's really easy. I'm going to make some more today and plant a few more seeds. It's supposed to reach 71 and sunny today so I'm going to move my seeds outside for some sunshine.

Instead of buying expensive peat pots to plant your seeds in, make these spiffy planting pots by rolling recycled newspaper around a glass or jar. The finished pots are sturdy and will break down quickly once they've been planted in the soil.
