My sister who is a member of 2nd Baptist in Houston sent me this prayer request that came from one of her fellow ESL teachers at Second Baptist.

I will be leaving July 19 - Aug. 2 for Kenya to work in orphanages there with a mission team at 1st Baptist. We are all going to be commissioned this Sunday at both services. This will be my first official mission experience so I will need your prayers. There have been recent mass beheadings by a rebel group in Nairobi and just yesterday someone set off a bomb in downtown Nairobi. We were told that it could be a dangerous mission, but we have all signed waivers. We will leave every day at 5 pm to head back to the hotel outside Nairobi because to be out a night is very dangerous. There are 13 women and 7 men on the trip. 5 of them are teachers, 1 is a minister and his wife from Louisiana. One couple is planning to live and work in Nairobi and have created their own orphanage. We are still in the planning stages as to what activities to do. I believe that the ESL training at Baylor will help me a great deal. Jean S. (I am going with her) thinks the program is great and took the class last year that I am going to take this week. Blessed by the best!!! Sue K.
