Please Pray for Mary's Husband
(Mary's Journal writer) http://thegatheringplacehome.myfastforum.org/forum54.php

April 28 – 8 A.M
Mary’s husband Ric had a heart attack in the evening April 27th.  They airlifted him to Boise, some 2 or 3 hours from their home in Oregon, and he will be there while they regulate his blood pressure and run tests to see the extent of damage to his heart. He is in no pain at this time. Their son and their pastor went with them to the hospital.

8:14 PM  – Mary’s report:
I'm back home but hubby has to stay until at least tomorrow. In the morning I will call the hospital before I leave here. It's about 150 miles one way, so if he can't come home then I have to think what I want to do. The choices woud be 1, go anyhow, spend another $60 for a motel room and hope he could come home the next day, or 2, wait until the next day to go and hope they'r be tired of him by then. Oh, I guess 3 choices, I could drive down in the morning, stay all day, drive back home, and go again the next day.

He had an angiogram this morning, they wanted to put in a stent but his heart plumbing is full of u turns and zig zags, so they couldn't do it. They did get pictures where the damaged place shows and they said it isn't very large. The incision where they inserted the tube in the artery in his groin was still leaking blood when I left about 5 hrs after they did the proceedure, so I hope that it will clot overnight. He is on blood thinners. This incident will produce lifestyle changes, diet, exercise, weight loss, and he'll be taking blood thinners for the rest of his life. Oh boy, life is full of adjustments!

Thank you all for your prayers. I got a pretty good night's sleep last night at a motel, and today I am still running on adrenaline.

Update, his incision is weeping blood again. He'll have to stay another day so I am going back, will spend the night in a motel and hope I can bring him back home tomorrow.

7:46 PM Sharran's Report
I just had a call from Mary, she is back at the hospital and will spend the night at the motel. Her husband is more comfortable, but is still bleeding slightly, and they are hoping that the clotting process will take effect soon. She also is hoping they will get to take him home tomorrow.

She sounded good, but she always sounds good, with a smile in her voice. Strong lady, Mary is!

Lots of prayers for her, that's a long drive back and forth from the hospital.

I have to tell you about our Mary. Some time ago, perhaps a year, I wrote an article about discovering lupines in a visit to Alaska. I fell crazy in love with the plant. Not so long after the article, I received in the mail a little gift of lupine seeds from a lady named Mary in Oregon. I didn't know her, but I thought it a beautiful gesture.

Fast forward to September, when I met our Elena. I got to know her through other friends, and discovered that wonderful lady. Through her, and The Gathering Place, I found Mary from Oregon again, though at the time, I didn't realize it was the same person who had so lovingly sent me my treasured lupine seeds.

Fast forward to March, we started an online storytellers writing group, and my Mary from Oregon joined in with us.

Sometimes people come into our lives for a reason, for a season, and forever. Something tells me that Mary is in my life forever.

I find my thoughts and prayers straying to Oregon and to Boise throughout each day. I have come to treasure the smile I hear in her voice. I hope she knows how very special she is, and I hope she knows that my prayers and my love are with her and Ric.

Thank you for keeping everybody up to date with transfering mine and Sharon's posts from DG threads over to here. I was lacking a phone number to call Elena. We got a new cell phone recently and the new one has very few numbers in it's memory, just like mine!  Some people have left messages, one on my home phone from a woman only had a couple of words that I could understand, so I don't even know if it was somebody trying to get an update on my hubby or something else. Anybody who called the cell phone and left a message is still hiding in there because I don't know the password to listen to them. Modern life throws me for a loop sometimes!

The good news is that he was released from the hospital about noon today and is napping in his recliner now, the 3 hour trip home wore him out. And now I'm trying to let everyone know that, and how much we have appreciated your prayers!

Praise the Lord for taking good care of both of you, for traveling mercies for you both and for good friends who were praying for the two of you.  I think i will sleep well tonight knowing you are both back in your own beds and that life will get back to normal for you now. You are loved by so many people who really care about your health and welfare.  I am one of those people for sure.

That is one of the sweetest posts I have read lately.
Sharran, you are truly a precious, caring person. Your heart must be huge in order to hold all of the love you have for your fellow man/woman.  I was delighted beyond words when I read what you wrote and I feel sure that Mary must have felt the same way.  I am so thankful to have friends like you and like Mary. I thank the Lord for both of you dear ladies.
