How often do we push ourselves so hard that we don't take time until the end of the day to realize just how tired we are? Today was just such a day for me. I started off by getting Knock up and ready for school. After I dropped him off I went straight to the barn to do the morning feeding and chores. I dug out Firefly's stall. It was quite a chore as it hadn't been done in several weeks. I ended up taking 8 large wheel barrow loads out of it. Then I had to refill it with fresh sawdust. She was so happy she immediately dropped  into the fresh dust to have a roll. I smiled because I could plainly see all my hard work was appreciated.

I also cleaned all the water tubs and refilled them. They are each 20 gallon tubs so it was a job. I fed and hayed everybody. As I went about my work I looked in on all the horses. Whether they were up to their eyeballs in their feed buckets, pulling hay from their racks or raising dripping muzzles from clean, freshly filled water tubs I smiled because I could plainly see all my hard work was appreciated.

I pitched one load of muck into the chicken yard. They love to scratch around in the refuse for leftover grain. As they fell happily to scratching and pecking, I smiled because I could plainly see my hard work was appreciated.

Later, after picking Knock up from his after school program,
we went back to the barn to take care of the evening feeding. I am a creature of habit and when anything is out of order I know someone else has been into things behind me. I knew right away the buckets were not where I had left them. In just a few minutes I was able to tell that DH had been there before me and done the evening feeding to save me the work. I smiled because I could plainly see my morning's hard work had been appreciated.

We went to church for our last regular practice of our Christmas program. It's a musical and I take center stage for one of the songs. The director told the cast to follow my lead for the number. I have worked on my moves and I smiled because I could plainly see my hard work was appreciated.

It feels good to be appreciated. Of course, that's not the reason we do things but it feels really good when we work hard at something and can plainly see that our hard work has been appreciated. I'm sure God likes to be appreciated also. Who works any harder or any more selflessly that He does? I know I don't tell him nearly enough how great He is. How much I love Him or how much I appreciate all He does for me. It shames me to admit it and I will work harder to fix it. It makes me happy to know that I can make God smile by showing him plainly that all His hard work is appreciated.

Very true.  With each other, the appreciation we show is like wind underneath sails.  It helps us keep working hard knowing that there's value in our work.  God loves the attention we show Him, and thankfully, He's faithful to continue working hard for us even when we forget to notice.

Those were two great posts, Cajun and Snookie.

I appreciate both of you and the great job you are doing with your heartfelt posts here at TGP.  I feel sure that the Lord will appreciate your efforts also since they are for HIM.
