They are in full bloom now, simply gorgeous, they are on my back porch love the cooler weather.. _________________ Isaiah 40:31 "They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings as eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint."
Here is a picture of my cactus. A dear friend gave it to me last year in early December. I don't know if it is supposed to be a Thanksgiving cactus (or what?) since it blooms around Thanksgiving. I managed to keep it alive by letting it stay outside all summer. It rewarded me with the blooms you see here. I think we need to swap cuttings next spring.
These are two of my Thanksgiving cacti. The red one is pretty much done now. The pink one still has some flowers. My Christmas cactus doesn't have all many flowers this year.

Gee, Aloe, I had no idea there were so many different ones. So.....looks like mine is actually a Thanksgiving cactus huh? They are all just absolutely beautiful.
I remember having a christmas cactus in our home as I was growing up. It was never as nice as yours though. _________________ You might be a dog lover if: There are more dog toys than people in your bed.
I read that when they are in bud and bloom, they should be kept in a place that is 50 to 55 degrees at night. That is no problem for my outdoor one. (It's actually colder than that at night.) The pink one is indoors but it is in the greenhouse window which is probably cooler than the house itself. I would imagine that it is warmer than 55F, though. Therefore, I'd say that the low 60s at night is probably sufficient. _________________ So they will be called oaks of righteousness,

My Mom had one. Don't know whether it was Christmas or Thankgiving but it was beautiul. She had it hung on a cross bar between two trees and it nearly touched the ground. It was dark red. I always loved it.

That first one is absolutely beautiful. It is almost translucent. I did not know there was any color other than red and pink. Is there a purple by any chance?
