A couple pictures of mushrooms I encountered on a hike last year. Anyone know what kind they are?

I don't know a thing about them, but aren't they pretty? How do you know a mushroom from a toadstool?

I don't know if there is technically a difference or if "toad stool" is the slang name given to all poisonous mushrooms.
I have only heard the poisonous ones referred to with that
term.

Thanks! A little research is in order before eating anything that looks like a mushroom no matter how pretty it is!!!!!!!!!! I have several concrete ones in my garden. A friend poured them and sells them. Of course I don't try to eat them or any others other than the ones found in the grocery store. Wink

Your posted pictures are so pretty. What method do you use to post them? Since we are having problems with the service that the site uses for this, we might need to start using another method if we want our pictures to stay put and not disappear. GRRRRR!

They really do! Have you had any of yours disappear here on the site?

I remember when we were trying to figure the best ways to post pictures here at TGP and that was one option we considered. It looks like it has worked better for you than the site photo service has for some of the rest of us.

I think that Smokeythedog posts his from his own website. I don't remember the "wherefores" of that though.

As long as I don't remove them from my photo bucket album they won't disappear from wherever I have sent them. If I were to ever remove them from my photo bucket album, they would disappear from any post I had put them on. I wonder if I could copy and paste them from my blog spot? I'll have to try that sometime.

Thanks for that info. I will pass that on to Aloe. So many of her photos have disappeared that I know she is bound to be discouraged with posting pictures now. Maybe we will get this photo thing solved one of these days. My Zone Alarm protection won't even let me see the pictures on this site, much less post them. I could probably get past Zone Alarm if I could post them elsewhere and then move them over here. Boy! This strains the old brain!!!!! If you post from your blog and it works, please report back here and let us know. I have two blogs that I started in order to do that at one time. I never have done anything with them but I can try if you find it to be successful with yours.
