It Depends On Which Way You Are Looking

Last night during my patrols I was watching the sunset off and on. I noticed that toward the West the colors were all bright pinks and oranges, bright and cheery. If I looked toward the East the clouds were mostly dark purples and blues, dark and depressing in comparison. I thought how fitting that we as Christians should be looking toward the SON, not away. The world is certainly a more beautiful place in His light, the light of the world!

John 8:12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

Luke 21:28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

I was wondering over the weekend how people live their lives without Christ and the light He gives. My mood is affected by the weather sometimes. If there are prolonged days with rain or cloud cover, I feel myself getting a little sad or depressed, longing to see the sun again. In a spiritual sense, it's the same with Christ. I don't want to live a day without His light.
