Dried Flowers

Ok, how many of you have dried flowers in a vase somewhere in your house? Perhaps they are gathering dust on a shelf or windowsill. In any case, while they are nice and even artsy, they are nothing like the real living wildflowers. They are dead, and dry, and cut off from their roots. Kind of like some Christians we might know. I think it’s because of the same reason; Being cut off from the root, in our case Jesus Christ. Many people keep their Christianity in a vase on a shelf, dried up and dead, a mere decoration, instead of a living relationship.
Which one are you? Are you a dried up flower in a decorative vase, or a vibrant living plant growing to the glory of God?
Psalm 1:1-3 How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, nor stand in the path of sinners, nor sit in the seat of scoffers! But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and in His law he meditates day and night. He will be like a tree {firmly} planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in its season and its leaf. _________________ You might be a dog lover if: There are more dog toys than people in your bed.
You're right. Jesus said that if we don't abide in Him, the true vine, we will dry up and die.
This verse is scary to me: Anyone who does not remain in Me is thrown away like a useless branch and withers. Such branches are gathered into a pile to be burned. John 15:6 NLT
It's a daily pursuit just like eating and drinking.
