Buddy Break

Our church began participating in this program earlier this year and it's been a huge success. Buddy Break offers an opportunity for parents of special-needs children to take a little break, even if it's for a few hours on a Friday evening or Saturday.

Our church is Assembly of God, but I've noticed other denominations listed like Presbyterian, Methodist, etc..

Amazingly, we've actually had parents of Buddy Break VIP's tell us that other churches have encouraged them to leave and find another church due to their children. It means the world to these parents to see other people play with and love their children - and enjoy doing so.

That's quite a ministry. I do remember seeing an article where a special needs family was asked to leave a chucrh, and they even got a restraining order! So sad.
