We had the farrier out this morning to reset Godiva and Glory. It rained a bit while he was there. Before he left it faired off and the sun made an appearance. So DH and I loaded up horses and hauled to a friend's house. We met him and his nephew and we made a nice 5 mile ride across a strip job by his house. It took us just over an hour. The sun was in and out but the weather was really nice compared to what it has been.

After we got back to his house we helped him load his mule into and out of the trailer a couple of times. He is trying to get him used to it so he can take him on some trail rides this year. Today was a great improvement over the last time he loaded him. It was for a trip to the vet and he had to winch him into the trailer with a come along! Mules are very stubborn. After that we visited with him and his wife for about an hour before heading home. The chickens were pecking around in the yard and the guineas were making lots of noise like only a guinea can.

After a bit we loaded up and made the trip back to our barn. We unloaded the horses and finished the barn work. I had fed everybody earlier but I tossed in their hay and checked everybody's water. I put Max back in his stall. He had spent the day playing with Tug in Tug's big stall. They were both worn out by the evening and I imagine they will sleep well tonight.

I went and picked Knock up from his friend's house. He had gone home with them from school. He had most of his homework done already and was very proud of himself. I was proud of him too. He has been having a bit of trouble with his school work, but today was a good day for all of us! I love it when that happens.

I am so thankful that you all had such a good day.  I have been praying for Knock and his school situation.  I am glad he had a good day also. Maybe and hopefully things will level out for him now.

Good news that you got out to ride for a while. And also that Knock is doing better in school.

Are you feeling better now that the weather got a bit warmer?

The warm weather has helped me a lot. I wish the rain would ease up a bit. It has been flooding here abouts.

I try to remember that it won't be long before we will be praying daily for rain. It is hard to remember that sometimes when we are waterlogged however.

This is what it looked like less than 2 miles above our barn day before yesterday.

My word!  No wonder you are praying for a let up of the rain.  Is your barn anywhere that could be flooded like that one?  I hope that the animals were taken safely out of that barn if any were kept there.

That was actually a picnic shelter they just built next to where they are putting in a walking track. But next to it there were 4 horses that had to be moved to higher ground. Our barn is safe. The water got into the road next to it but it was high and dry. Thank the Lord!

Praise the Lord that your horses were safe.
